The 8 Days Zanzibar and Nyerere National Park Tour (formerly known as Selous Game Reserve) combines pristine beach relaxation in Zanzibar with an unforgettable wildlife safari experience in Nyerere National Park. Spend 4 days exploring the enchanting Zanzibar beaches, historical sites, and marine life, followed by 2 days of thrilling wildlife safaris where you can spot four of the Big Five: lion, leopard, buffalo, and elephants, alongside zebras, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, wild dogs, and a variety of bird species.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Tanzania

    • Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel in Jambiani, a peaceful location perfect for relaxation after your long flight.

    • Enjoy the evening at leisure, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 2Prison Island & Nakupenda Sandbank Tour

    • After breakfast at 9:00 AM, depart for a full-day adventure to Prison Island and Nakupenda Sandbank.

    • Visit Prison Island to observe the giant Aldabra tortoises and learn about the island’s historical significance.

    • Enjoy snorkeling near the island to view vibrant marine life and colorful corals.

    • Head to Nakupenda Sandbank to relax on its white sandy beach, swim in crystal-clear waters, and savor a delicious seafood lunch accompanied by seasonal fruits.

    • Return to Stone Town by boat in the late afternoon and transfer back to your hotel.

Day 3Zanzibar Safari Blue Excursion

    • After an early breakfast at 8:00 AM, embark on the Safari Blue Tour, one of Zanzibar’s most popular sea adventures.

    • Discover the stunning Kwale Island, explore a mangrove lagoon, and swim in a natural mangrove pool.

    • Enjoy snorkeling in the clear waters to observe marine life, relax on sandbanks, and savor a delightful seafood feast.

Day 4Swim with Turtles at Baraka Natural Aquarium

Day 5Fly from Zanzibar to Nyerere National Park

    • After breakfast, transfer to Zanzibar Airport for a morning flight to Nyerere National Park.

    • Upon arrival, meet your safari guide for a half-day game drive through the park, spotting diverse wildlife such as lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and more.

    • In the late afternoon, enjoy a sunset boat safari along the Rufiji River to spot hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species while witnessing the magical sunset.

    • Spend the evening at leisure around a bonfire, followed by dinner.

Day 6Full-Day Game Drive & Return to Zanzibar

  • Enjoy a packed lunch amidst the park’s breathtaking scenery.

  • In the late afternoon, transfer to the airstrip for your return flight to Zanzibar.

  • Upon arrival, transfer back to your hotel in Nungwi.

Day 7Full Day at Leisure
