Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA)

Transfer to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha for briefing. Overnight stay (not included in base price).

Day 2Londorossi Gate (2,360m) → Big Tree Camp (2,780m)

  • Begin your trek through lush rainforest. Enjoy the sights of colobus monkeys and exotic birds.
  • Distance: ~6 km | Hiking Time: 3-4 hrs

Day 3Big Tree Camp → Shira 2 Camp (3,850m)

  • Traverse the moorland zone with views of the Shira Plateau and Kibo Peak.
  • Distance: ~16 km | Hiking Time: 7-8 hrs

Day 4Shira 2 Camp → Barranco Camp (3,900m)

  • Cross the Lava Tower at 4,600m for acclimatization before descending to Barranco Valley.
  • Distance: ~10 km | Hiking Time: 6-7 hrs

Day 5Barranco Camp → Karanga Camp (3,995m)

  • Conquer the iconic Barranco Wall, then trek through alpine desert terrain.

Day 6:Karanga Camp → Barafu Camp (4,673m)

  • Prepare for the summit with a half-day trek to Barafu Base Camp.

Day 7 Barafu Camp → Uhuru Peak (5,895m) → Millennium Camp (3,950m)

  • Descend to Millennium Camp for overnight rest.
  • Distance: ~15 km | Hiking Time: 12-14 hr

Day 8Millennium Camp → Mweka Gate (1,630m)

  • Complete your descent through lush rainforest. Receive summit certificates and transfer back to your hotel.
  • Distance: ~10 km | Hiking Time: 4-5 hrs
